The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup: An eighth-place finish at Phoenix helped Montoya close the gap between him and Tony Stewart in the points chase. Montoya now only sits four points out of the fifth position heading into the season finale at Homestead. Point’s leader Jimmie Johnson won the race and has a 289 point lead over Montoya.
